Launching FIT
Windows
After installing FIT, make sure all user permissions are correct.
There are two wasy to launch FIT:
- Double click on a FIT shortcut.
- The FIT installation created a shortcut to launch FIT.
- If you want to build a new shortcut for FIT, follow your computer's procedure for creating a shortcut and then specify the following parameters in the shortcut dialog.
- target: c:\ibisfit\vw.exe c:\ibisfit\fit.im
- start in: c:\ibisfit
- If the shortcut is part of a program folder, you can launch FIT from the Windows start menu.
- Associate the FIT application (fit.im) to its program (vw.exe) and then double click on "fit.im".
- Many windows files have a distinctive extension, which associates the file with a program. For example, when you double-click on a file with extension ".doc", Microsoft Word will start and open that document.
- FIT works in a similar fashion with its two principal files. Double-click on "c:\ibisfit\fit.im". If '.im' files have not been associated to a program, the computer will prompt for a program. Respond with "c:\vworks\vw.exe" to link FIT with its program. After this association has been established within Windows, FIT can be launched by double-clicking on "file fit.im".
